The Alpha Phi Alpha Pi Upsilon Lambda Charitable Foundation (APAPULCF) was established in June 1994 by members of the Pi Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Prince George's County, Maryland. The Foundation is a 501C3 tax exempt organization incorporated in the State of Maryland. The Foundation's sole purpose is to acquire funds to be distributed as scholarships to deserving students graduating from Prince George's County high schools who plan to attend college. Scholarship awards are based on need and scholastic achievement. The Foundation is empowered to conduct all legal activities associated with raising funds to be distributed as scholarships. The Foundation's initial assets were generated from a boat ride on the Spirit of Washington in 1994 and have been enhanced by proceeds from golf tournaments, chapter Black and Gold Balls and other fundraising activities since that time. To date, the Foundation has awarded twenty-one (21) scholarships. Brother Christopher Moore currently serves as the Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors. Brother Anthony Harris serves as the President of the Foundation.
